Umbrella palm/Umbrella plant/Umbrella Papyrus is grown in groups. The trunk cross-section is triangular. Grows with height from 0.9 to 1.8 m. At the end of the stem is growing approximately 24 pieces of petals that resemble leaves, and arranged like the spokes of a wheel. Each petal has a long strand of 15-30 cm, and 1 to 1.5 cm wide. In the middle of it, grew a small white greenish flowers.

Umbrella name derived from the stem and petals form that resembles an umbrella framework.

Umbrella Papyrus is suitable for use as an accent plant on the banks of the pond. In addition to direct in the ground, this plant can also be grown in pots. Unlike their close relatives, payrus, which requires the always wet planting medium, Umbrella Papyrus can survive in dry media though.
