Sunlight on Sunflower

As the name implies, sunflowers has flowers shaped like the sun and the flowers always face the direction of motion of the sun, all day.On the morning, sunflowers will face east, and continue to to follow the position of the sun in the sky, until finally facing west in the afternoon.

This plant is usually grown with a height of 1.5 to 4 meters. The leaves are wide, heart-shaped with rough and hairy surface. The flowers are bright yellow with brown center. The diameter of the flowers range from 10-25 cm. This flower is very attracted the attention of all people, especially children, because the color is bright and large size. Sunflower roots produce a kind of chemical that inhibits the growth of other plants nearby.

Sunflower seeds contain polyunsaturated oils, carbohydrates and protein. Widely used for making cooking oil, flour, or as a snack. Black sunflower seeds have a higher protein content than the striped one.
