Umbrella palm/Umbrella plant/Umbrella Papyrus is grown in groups. The trunk cross-section is triangular. Grows with height from 0.9 to 1.8 m. At the end of the stem is growing approximately 24 pieces of petals that resemble leaves, and arranged like the spokes of a wheel. Each petal has a long strand of 15-30 cm, and 1 to 1.5 cm wide. In the middle of it, grew a small white greenish flowers.

Umbrella name derived from the stem and petals form that resembles an umbrella framework.

Umbrella Papyrus is suitable for use as an accent plant on the banks of the pond. In addition to direct in the ground, this plant can also be grown in pots. Unlike their close relatives, payrus, which requires the always wet planting medium, Umbrella Papyrus can survive in dry media though.

At first glance, the appearance of Acorus is similar with regular grass. The leaves are glossy with a width of 0.5 to 1 cm, grows with a height of 10-35 cm. The flowers are small, yellow and less attractive, shaped like thorns and grow on long flowers stalks. Acorus fruit is pink and fleshy. The crushed leaves of Acorus be smelled similar to cinnamon.

Acorus suitable for planting along the edge of the pond as a barrier. This plant can also be planted in pots, or as ground cover in areas that are always wet. In Japan, the plant is often planted in small pots and placed indoors as a decorative element on the table.

POWDER PUFF CACTUS
